Bidding Explained
Once you register for the Auction Site buyapigeon.com (with your real identity) you will receive a verification email to confirm your actual email address. Credit Card is not required.
BuyAPigeon welcomes all buyers. The shipping rates for the bidders within Canada are standard: For 1 to 6 pigeons the total cost is $270.00 including shipping crate.
If you’re out of Canada before bidding on the auction please contact us to confirm the shipping rate to your destination. In these unprecedented times is difficult to secure the flights to some destinations outside of Canada.
The pigeons are posted with a starting cost per bird. The bid increment is a $20 per bird up to a $300, $50 between $300 and $500 and $100 thereafter. We want to make this process affordable for everyone, especially for the newcomers to the sport.
Your AutoBid is hidden from the site administrators and rest assured we can’t access it. We want this process to be as fair as possible since our reputation depends on it! Once you bid, your bid is binding and cannot be reversed! Setting up an AutoBid does not guarantee that you are going to win!
How auto bid works:
With auto bid you are setting the maximum amount you are willing to spend. Auto bid will bid minimal amount on your behalf while minimal bid amount is either equal or below your set auto bid. We are providing a two examplse of how this works.
example 1:
The last bid if equal to your Auto/Reserve bid, takes over in the bidding process!
1. auto bid set to $525 while existing bid is $300 and auto bid immediately posts $350 (minimal bid)
2. somebody else bids $400
3. auto bid posts $450 (minimal bid)
4. somebody else posts $500
5. auto bid stopped bidding because the minimal bid is $600 ($500 + $100) and that is higher then the set amount in auto bid ($525)
example 2:
1. auto bid set to $500 while existing bid is $350 and auto bid immediately posts $400 (minimal bid)
2. somebody else bids $450
3. auto bid posts $500 (minimal bid which is equal to set auto bid amount)
4. nobody else bids and you won that auction
Anti-Snipping/Overtime feature: If bid is placed in the final 3 minutes of the auction the bidding will be automatically extended for 3 more minutes to give you enough time to act. If you set up your Auto/Proxy Bid you do not need to worry about this feature!
Once the Auction is finished you will receive the confirmation email from our office. Next day you will receive your invoice for the bird that you purchased. At that time you need to confirm with us if shipping is required and pay for it. The payment options accepted are: e-transfer or cash at the time of pick up. The payment is due on receipt of the invoice.
Happy bidding and thank you for your support!
